BUTTER PASSING BATTLEBOT

The concept of function is one of excellent value to lots of sentient beings; one can only envision the philosophical fear experienced by a robot created solely to pass butter. maybe wanting to produce a robot with a lot more reason to exist, [Micah “Chewy” Leibowitz] made a decision to develop this battlebot armed with a flamethrower, named Flamewar.

In the video, we see it rather effectively dealing with off against a robot named T800, at least in the early part of the fight. T800 is armed with a spinning weapon, as well as while it is able to provide a heavy thump thanks to kept kinetic energy, a lot more commonly than not T800 seems to knock itself over rather than do any serious damage to Flamewar. Flamewar is continuously able to terminate its main weapon, as the flamethrower is developed into its arms, far above the reach of T800’s armament. We won’t spoil the ending of the fight. Video below the break.

The robot was developed by [Micah] who competes with [Team Tiki], who have documented a few of their past develops online. We would like to see some footage of Flamewar really passing some butter, though. The bout was a part of Robogames 2017, and we’re pleased that such things like flamethrowers are enabled in the rules. Obviously security is a paramount worry of these events, so it’s remarkable to see they’ve discovered a method to make things work.

If you’re uninformed of the dairy product reference, fill yourself in here. We’ve seen other takes on this, too.

We like seeing battle robots right here at Hackaday. If you’re believing about getting started yourself, why not get started with an ant-weight bot to cut your teeth?
