Android Market alternative and one of the most popular third party mobile apps distribution services GetJar has announced that they are giving away a lot more than 100 paid apps for complimentary for a limited time; we’ve got the relevant links and list of the best apps ideal after the jump!
News of this event comes from straight from Reddit – a popular social news web site – in the form of an link submission from user getjar (which appears to the official account of GetJar on Reddit) which directs interested folks towards the web page where all the paid-apps-gone-free are provided in a horizontally-scrollable list.
There are, according to getjar’s link submission, over 100 apps listed. These apps aren’t just your average apps by the way, GetJar has included big names likes beautiful Widgets, Unlock with WiFi, BeWeather Pro, smart Office, Tapatalk, Paper cam and games like Fruit Ninja HD (exclusive to Tegra-based devices), Age of Zombies, Samurai 2: Vengeance and Backbreaker, just to name a few.
If you are interested, which you absolutely must be, you must pick up your Android device and head to the link embedded at the end. From there, you can scroll horizontally* through apps provided in alphabetical order. once you come across an app that you like, tap download and, then, if you already have GetJar’s app installed, the download will begin, otherwise you will be redirected to a page where you can first download and install GetJar.
Be sure to enable unknown sources under settings > Applications so you can sideload the apps you download from GetJar. If you’re on Android 4.x Ice cream Sandwich, unknown sources can be found under settings > Security.
I’ve already gone through the list once, swiftly downloading popular apps like Paper Camera, beautiful Widgets, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Backbreaker and smart Office. I now intend to go through the list again so I can download a lot more of these awesome apps.
GetJar hasn’t pointed out how long this will last, but these sort of deals are nearly always for a limited time period only, so it would be best if you get to downloading these apps as soon as possible!
